A 20-year-old man who allegedly robbed a pizza deliveryman at gunpoint was arraigned today in Dorchester District Court.

Dorchester resident Trevon Mason is facing charges of armed robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm, said a Suffolk district attorney’s spokesman, Jake Wark. Bail was set at $3,000.

Someone ordered a large pizza, a 15-piece hot wings, cheesecake, and a two-liter Pepsi, said Officer Eddy Chrispin, a police spokesman. When the deliveryman arrived at an address on Manley Street, Mason allegedly pointed a silver-colored handgun at him.

The deliveryman, fearing for his life, threw the food at Mason and then ran, police said. Police were called to the scene about 1:50 p.m. Monday. Mason was arrested later at his home, which is on a nearby street.

Mason’s attorney, Shannon McAuliffe, said the charges were "completely trumped-up." She said Mason had been charged with the firearm violation, even though no gun had been recovered.

McAuliffe also questioned other aspects of the investigation and arrest and noted that her client appeared to be “pretty well beaten up” when he appeared in court.

"He is adamantly asserting his innocence," she said.
