The search for a 5-year-old Lynn boy who has been missing since mid-August is continuing, law enforcement authorities said today.

State and Lynn Police met today at the Lynn police station to map their strategy in the search for 5-year-old Giovanni Gonzalez, who was last seen Aug. 16, Essex County prosecutors said in a statement.

Police are continuing to conduct interviews -- and re-interviewing some people, prosecutors said.

Clear Channel is also providing a billboard that will go up next week in the city's Wyoma Square that will include pictures of the child and his father, Ernesto, prosecutors said.

Ernesto Gonzalez Jr., 36, is being held at the Essex County jail in Middleton on a charge of child endangerment. Giovanni's mother, Daisy Colon, told police she had dropped her son at the father's home. The father denied ever having the boy and refused to cooperate, though witnesses told police they saw the father and son together the weekend the boy went missing.

Investigators are asking people with any information to call the Lynn Police at 781-595-2000.
