A 20-year-old Boston man pleaded not guilty today to a murder charge stemming from a fatal shooting Monday night in Somerville.

Marcus Amos of the city's Roslindale section was arraigned this afternoon in Somerville District Court in the death of Keith McCoy, 28, of Somerville. Amos was arrested in Boston this morning. He faces charges of murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and various firearms violations, Middlesex prosecutors and Somerville police said in a statement.

Police who responded to a report of gunshots fired at 20 Memorial Road at about 10 p.m. Monday found McCoy unconscious and suffering from multiple bullet wounds. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just before 11 p.m., authorities said.

Judge Neil Walker ordered Amos held without bail and slated a dangerousness hearing for Friday. Andrew LaCourse, Amos's attorney at the hearing, had no comment on the case.
