A three-vehicle crash involving a minivan on Cape Cod this morning left a woman seriously injured and five young children shaken up, police said.
Barnstable Police said a man driving a late-model Mercedes was heading south on Route 132 in Hyannis shortly before 10 a.m. when he broadsided a woman driving a Nissan pickup truck, who appeared to be making an illegal left to head north on Route 132. The impact sent the pickup truck hurtling backward, where it slammed into the northbound bus from the Crystal Garden Children’s Center in Hyannis.
Barnstable Police Sergeant Sean Sweeney said nine people, which included two adults on the bus, were taken to Cape Cod Hospital. He said the woman driving the pickup truck suffered serious injuries, but was likely to survive. He said none of the others suffered life-threatening injuries. He would not release any of their names.
“There was no obvious trauma or visual injury to any of the children,” Sweeney said in a telephone interview. “They were taken to the hospital as a precaution.”
He said the children ranged in age from 15 months to 5 years old. Crystal Garden Children’s Center is a daycare center.
He said police are investigating the crash and may cite the drivers of the Mercedes and the Nissan.

as usual, some stupid person making ye olde' illegal left on 132...so many do it, and i curse at em' all....is this what it takes to take the extra 4 5seconds, go to the rotary, and then turn around? thats why the darn thing is still there!!!! i mean, c'mon people! get some sense....i lived in jersey for 18 years and still have yet to see the unprecidented lack of skill and inability to manuever a vehicle in a straight line even compare to this little sand bar....
these people are not only stupide but selfish - only think of themselves and not thinking about how his/her actions would affect others. These people should be taken off the road!!
clearly you are from New Jersey...
*may* cite - HA!
as usual the moronic actions of a few dumb drivers on the cape has now tramatized a bunch of children.... mission accomplished u morons!!!!!
