Day Ahead:

Prosecutors expect to arraign Sultan Omar Chezulu in Roxbury Municipal Court. Chezulu is accused of murdering Elsie "Yolanda" Hernandes in 1984.

Harvard's Institute of Politics at the John F. Kennedy School of Government hosts a bipartisan group of newly elected members of Congress for a conference focusing on leadership and issues that they will face.

Former FBI agent John J. Connolly Jr. will be sentenced in Miami for his murder conviction.

Mayor Thomas M. Menino attends a candlelight vigil at City Hall Plaza for the victims of the Mumbai terrorist attacks. The vigil will include spiritual readings from religious leaders of the Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, and Hindu faiths.
The 67th annual lighting of the holiday tree on Boston Common will feature appearances by Santa Claus, Brian McKnight, and performers from throughout Nova Scotia and New England.
