Firefighters respond to smoke in office building
By Globe Staff
Firefighters responded this morning to a report of smoke between floors in a 10-story office building near Massachusetts General Hospital.
Firefighters at the scene at 50 Staniford St. requested an electrician, which suggests that an electrical problem may have caused the smoke, according to Steve MacDonald, a fire department spokesman. Officials have not yet said definitively what caused the smoke, which was detected between the third and fourth floors.
No major injuries have been reported. One person was evacuated from the building, MacDonald said.
Firefighters responded at 8:30 and cleared the scene 30 minutes later.
