A 44-year-old Lynn man is facing charges stemming from a June heist in which an Attleboro jewelry company lost $1 million to $2 million in gold, diamonds, and jewelry, including New York Giants Super Bowl rings.
Sean D. Murphy was arrested at his Walnut Street home on Friday. Lynn Police said they found jewelry connected to the theft at his home. Murphy faces a variety of charges, including larceny over $250, breaking and entering in the nighttime, receiving stolen property over $250, and possession of burglary tools.
Attleboro Police said investigators had obtained information that pointed to Murphy as the mastermind behind the June 8, 2008 theft at E.A. Dion Inc. A Saugus woman was also arrested at Murphy's home on a charge of receiving stolen property over $250.
Murphy is being held by the Lynn Police and will be arraigned Monday in Lynn District Court.
