Police release video of downtown shooting

Boston police are hunting for a suspect in a downtown shooting that took place just after midnight on New Year's Day.

Police have identified Mario Mendez, 33, as the suspect and have released a chilling video from a surveillance camera, showing the violent attack in the hope it will lead to his capture.

According to police, officers found a person shot outside Revolution Bar at 200 High St. at 1:29 a.m. on Jan 1. The victim was shot in the leg and was rushed to Masschusetts General Hospital. His wound was not life-threatening.

During an investigation, police said Mendez was identified as a suspect. He is believed to be armed and dangerous. Authorities believe he may have fled the state.
