Barnstable Police eye 'strong suspect' in hit and run
By Globe Staff
A man who said he believed he had hit a sign while driving down Route 28 has become a strong suspect in the hit and run death of another man early this morning in the Marstons Mills section of Barnstable, police said.
The body of Michael Hagan, 38, was found in the roadway near the Stop and Shop store at about 6 a.m.
At 11:15 a.m., a 78-year-old man contacted police saying he was traveling on the road at that time and in that area when he believed he had hit a sign, said Sergeant Sean Sweeney, a police spokesman.
Detectives went to the man’s house and talked to him. His car had front-end damage on the headlight and a “rather large hole” in the front windshield near the inspection sticker, said Sweeney, who did not release the man's name.
“He is a strong suspect,” Sweeney said. “He did give a statement to detectives. They’ll put it all together tomorrow and we’ll see where we go from there.”

Another death caused by an elderly driver? Shocking.
They have to come up with an age to retest seniors. These "accidents" happen far to frequently.
GIVE ME A BREAK. LOOK AT THE OLD MAN'S CAR. HE SHOULD KNOW HE HIT A PERSON.
