Chelsea Police probe two shootings
By John M. Guilfoil, Globe Correspondent
Chelsea Police are looking for the public's help in solving two shootings Friday that left two young men in the hospital.
Officers responded at 2:15 a.m. to a report that a shooting victim had walked into Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett. Steven Piasecki, 24, of East Boston, told investigators he was outside a friend’s house on Chestnut Street when he was confronted by three Hispanic males and shot in the hip. He was transferred from Whidden to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers responded at 2:02 p.m. to an address on Cook Avenue, where they found 21-year-old Byran Cortez of Jamaica Plain, shot in the leg and groin area.
Police said witnesses told them the victim was in an argument on the street when the assailant pulled a shotgun from a the backseat of a vehicle and fired. Cortez was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was listed in serious but stable condition. Chelsea Police found the car involved in the shooting abandoned shortly afterward.
Detectives are actively investigating both shootings. There was no word on whether police believe they are related. Police said witnesses can anonymously call the Chelsea Police “Crime Stoppers” Tip Line at 617-466-4880 if they have any information regarding the incidents.

Chelsea is a sanctuary city. As long as this irresponsible and reckless policy continues, Chelsea will continue to be a dangerous place. All of the "eco-friendly" condos and trendy lofts built will not change this reality. I used to live in Chelsea. MS13 and other latin gangs are in operation. Illegal immigration is out of control.
Ask yourself, could you name a single predominantly hispanic nieghborhood you would voluntarily move your family to?
You call Chelsea a dangerous place. I have lived here for over 7yrs and have not been subjected to any of the activities that you mention. The eco friendly lofts ARE changing the face of Chelsea. More and more young professionals are choosing Chelsea as an alternative to other unaffordable neighborhoods in the Boson area. People like myself are not afraid to live with diversity and welcome the flavor of all walks of life. Maybe you should live in a bubble to protect yourself and your children from the dangers that are in EVERY city.
chelsea has become haven for illegal alien. the serios drug and protitution problems have made the city verry undireble people wake up i' lived thre for 20years and it seems every time i come back the problems are worst
