The Coast Guard and the Gloucester Fire Department rescued a trapped diver yesterday after his lines got entangled in the propeller of a moored boat near a fishing auction house in Gloucester.

The diver got stuck around 3 p.m., the Coast Guard said.

The rescuers were able to cut the man's lines and free him from his entanglement.

He sustained a head injury and was flown to a Boston hospital by Medflight helicopter, but his injuries were not life-threatening, said Petty Officer Connie Terrell.

  1. Being a Diver, I would like to hear more details on how this happened, and the exact conditions that led to this accident.
