By James Vaznis, Globe staff

Boston police are investigating a triple homicide early this morning in Dorchester.

A man and two women were shot as they sat in a vehicle outside a party on Mt. Ida Road at about 4 a.m., according to police. The three victims, who were either in their late teens or early 20s, were rushed to Boston Medical Center. All were pronounced dead shortly after from their injuries.

By noon today, the vehicle in which the shootings had happened had been towed away. No one at the residence of the three-decker where the party allegedly took place answered the door. Few residents were willing to speak of the shootings in this densely populated neighborhood of three-decker and single-family houses that are near Ronan Park. One resident said the sound of gunshots here is a common occurrence.

The shooting took place eight hours after police found the body of a man in his late 20s, covered with blood, in an apartment on Ogdon Street in Dorchester. Boston police spokesman James Kenneally said he expected to release more information on that death later this afternoon.

Police are urging anyone with information about the triple homicide to call the homicide unit at 617-343-4470.

  1. Can't say i'm too surprised. People should be sleeping at 4am.

  1. What a waste of young lives. And what a waste of police resources. They'll find the killer(s) and a jury of peers will find them guilty of the lesser included charge of involuntary manslaughter and they'll be back on the streets in 16 months.

  1. Nothing good happens at 4AM in the morning, especially in that Boston neighborhood...

  1. In the 60s and 70s, the Mt. Ida Road area, like many neighborhoods, was a solid working class neighborhood, not paradise, but a place where one never felt this type of danger. At that time traditonal families with both a a mom and dad were the norm. No longer.

Now, the young and minority demographic who engage in or are involved on the periphery of high risk behaviour with drugs and/or guns are likely to end up like these three indiviiduals. Sad, but preventable.

  1. Does it matter that it's 4am? Why can't people just have a good time?

  1. As a visiting nurse I had the priveledge of working with countless young families in "that" neighborhood. If you have never been involved with the inner city, step out of your ivory tower.....you have no idea what these families are up against. The vast majority of my patients were wonderful families, I consider myself blessed to have been in their lives. They enriched my life in many ways.

  1. I feel very bad for the three victoms even tho I do not know what could have caused this or why.... Sad really to see these stories... People (well kids, really) don't deserve to be murdered even if they were in a bad neighborhood at 4am.

  1. I don't hear or read about upstanding citizens using their "arms'" to protect themselves, as argued by the NRA and other pro-gun groups. If we banned guns would the good citizens be upset because they can't purchase guns? How many people actually buy guns to protect themselves?

  1. At 4 a.m. in Dorchester last night, the brilliant, beautiful and wonderful children in my kindergarten class were sleeping peacefully. (As were their involved, supportive family members.) Just a reminder to "anotherman" and anyone else who considers this violence to be commonplace in Dorchester.

  1. Whats truly messed up is that the people commenting this seem to have no remorse and probably don't live in these neighborhoods..Considering their asumptions pertaining to the conclusion of this homicide..first of all..the people probably won't be captured and second..who cares about being up at 4 o'clock in the morning? Shouldn't people have that option? Where were the police? Why isnt there an anger towards them for their lack of effort in the last some odd years? On behalf of those who are really in these neighborhoods I truly apologize for the ignorant comments stated before this...

  1. Same typical story as always, different names. Some things never change. I stay away from there during the day. You get one life and this is what people choose to do with it. Pathetic!

  1. I live in this neighborhood and when i first moved here I was nervous. After a while i felt safe...no one bothered me or even spoke to me. The crime that takes place around here is mostly gang/drug related...i'm involed with neither. I mind my business and dont plan to live here forever...but seriously dont judge. Plenty of people who live i places like Cohasset and Weston were likely awake at 4am on sat and up to no good. They just got luckly and were born privileged unlike the majority of these kids in this 'hood.

  1. it's shouldn't matter what time of day it was. people are so rude and heartless to say dumb stuff like they are saying now come on. what if it was your family memeber. dumb people.

  1. Its unfortunate that something like this has to happen, i knew one of the victims and he did not deserve this. People should just put aside their differences and just get along! And for the people, who have no sympathy for the three victims, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Imagine if it was YOUR children having to suffer through this! Just because it was 4am in the morning doesnt mean anything! crime still happens in broad daylight!!!

What these families are up against? Is that what has them out at 4am EVERY NIGHT? Doesn't anybody have to get up for work?

  1. whynot said: "In the 60s and 70s, the Mt. Ida Road area, like many neighborhoods, was a solid working class neighborhood, not paradise, but a place where one never felt this type of danger...."

you know what is funny, whynot? I was thinking the same thing -- about Weston! Right up until last week when that guy snuffed his GRANDMOTHER!!

  1. Hey Greenfotog are you really that ignorant?Of course you don't hear about it.You really the media will tell these stories of people defending themselves with guns.If you really want to know do a Google search and you'll see how many people save there lives everyday with there guns unlike the criminals that gunned down these kids.If you really want the information you could find it but your probably another weenie ass liberal who doesn't understand still that wherever people can carry crime has dropped.Anyhow before you make another stupid remark make the effort to get the facts.Oh one more thing, try getting the info from other places besides the Tv and Newspapers.Wise up DUMMY

  1. I had the opportunity of helping one of the slain young woman. Her name was Shacora and she was a sweet girl just mislead. FRom the last time I saw she was trying to get her situation right but who knows with times as hard as they are it is easy to go astray. My prayer go out to all her of the family of those lost. Not just this situation but all family of countless acts of unnecessary violence.

  1. So [whynot] says, "Now, the young and minority demographic who engage in or are involved on the periphery of high risk behaviour with drugs and/or guns are likely to end up like these three indiviiduals. Sad, but preventable."

1st of all we ARE NOT THE MINORITY!! 2nd, What the hell do you mean if people engage in drugs and guns are likely to end up like Anthony, Cora, and Dee Dee?? Let me ask your dumb ignorant self something...did you know them???? No you didnt! so for you to sit on this web site with nothing but ignorance and stupidity in that bite sized brain of yours and to say that...you need help. And i knew one of the families of the victim so please GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. -t00dles.
