Boston Police cordoned off a stretch of sidewalk at Clarendon and Stuart streets today in the Copley Square area when an injured red-tailed hawk touched down, possibly after flying into the side of the Prudential Center.

About 50 curious pedestrians slowed down in the cold to watch the bird as it struggled to take off, some snapping photos on their cell phones.

After a few failed attempts, the bird took off and perched in a nearby tree.

  1. The bird landed at Clarendon and Stuart after it hit the Prudential???? Personally I'd go with the Hancock.
