Transportation Secretary James A. Aloisi Jr.'s statement
"I believe it is important to clear the air and move beyond the recent controversies. Since becoming Secretary of Transportation my passion for realizing the Governor’s reform efforts has caused me to use language I have later regretted. I have meant no disrespect to legislators or other officials, and I know that only through consensus and collaboration with the Legislature and others can we get ourselves out of the mess we have inherited."
"In addition, last night in an attempt to defend my sister -- who I dearly love -- I posted an ill-advised statement on Blue Mass Group where I wrongly impugned the integrity of the Boston Globe and its reporter Andrea Estes. I apologize for those comments and regret this error in judgment. I look forward to working with our partners in the Legislature to bring about meaningful transportation reform with renewed vigor and greater humility."

If only crocodile tears were dollars, we could fund the T and pay off the Big Dig debt, Mr. Aloisi. This so-called apology reminds me of Bush trying to justify the Iraq war when no WMD's could be found. Carol Aloisi, like her brother, have been party hacks for years making a small fortune from political connections. Este's story was about a Patrick loyalist sitting in an empty office making 60K a year doing absolutely nothing! Even the tolltakers have to collect quarters once and awhile. At least Bernie Cohen didn't have any layabout relatives -- whichi s why he probably got the axe. Aloisi should do everyone a favor, skip the apologies and find a job with his ilk -- I hear AIG is hiring!
"...get ourselves out of the mess we have inherited" This is an apology? It's not even an explanation; it's more diversion of blame away from you. I think the mess you have inherited is the character trait of not being able to take responsibility; letting the buck stop with you. Everyone knows you didn't cause all the problems. We do expect you to honestly deal with the problems you face. Note: if you want an apology to sound sincere, apologize for the specific thing and then stop talking.
"The mess we inherited"??
Cant anyone of you hacks just take responsibility and move on. Consensus and collaboration are overrated, when you infect a good idea with a bad one you just get a bad idea. I dont see anything good coming from the MBTA under you other than higher fares, and dentrifice of the system because you well as many others before you did not reign in the legacy costs.
Reform, reform, reform. We need to downsize Federal, State, Municipal, City and all other forms of Goverment. Maybe another Boston tea party is needed.
