A two-car collision this evening sent a car smashing through the front doors of Montague Town Hall, police and fire officials said.

Police believe that about 8 p.m. a red 2000 Ford Windstar hit a green 1997 Buick Century that was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of First Street and Avenue A, where the town hall is located. The Windstar then caromed into the town hall

Three people were sent to Franklin Medical Center with injuries that were not life threatening, according to Montague police and the Turners Falls fire department.

Authorities have not yet identified the victims. Montague building inspector David Jensen is still surveying the damage, a spokeswoman for the police department said.
