The rumors of impending summer weather have not been exaggerated: Bountiful sunshine is expected to pushed the temperature to 70 degrees today in Boston.
And it gets better.
Forecasters expect low 80s on Saturday and Sunday, which would be a high not seen in Boston since Sept. 15, 2008.
Summer will not, however, last long.
A backdoor front is expected to sweep the sunshine away on Sunday by late afternoon or early evening, according to Hayden Frank, a meteorologist with the National Weather service in Taunton. The new weather system could drag temperatures down into the 50s.
