Lowell teenager found dead had been running from police

A teenager who was found dead Monday morning at a Lowell electrical substation is believed to have been on the run from police after an alleged larceny, police said.
National Grid employees found Angel Ren, 17, of Lowell, unconscious and within a secure and fenced-in National Grid substation at 175 Barker Ave. about 10:20 a.m. Monday, police said.
Ren was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe he was electrocuted.
Lowell and state police said Ren, along with two other male individuals, were stealing tires from motor vehicles in the area of Lower Centralville at about 4 a.m. Sunday.
The two other suspects, Samart Nou, 22, and Chanchheattra Ren, 19, both of Lowell, fled in a motor vehicle and were eventually apprehended and charged with larceny over $250, possession of burglarious tools, speeding, and failing to stop for a police officer.
Police believe Angel Ren, cousin of Chanchheattra, fled on foot and climbed the barbed wire fence of the substation, which was about 150 feet from the area where the larceny occurred.
Police believe he touched some high-voltage apparatus in the substation, but the exact cause of death is still unknown, pending an examination by the state medical examiner.

Here comes the lawsuit.....
Here comes the what??? The kid was 17 and out running amuck at 4:00 am and committing crimes...you know what the judge will say?? That's what he gets. And sad as it is to say, if he had been home in bed where a 17 year old belongs at 4 am, it wouldn't have happened, so a lot of people would say so too.
no lawsuit he was trespassing
shocking!
unusual that a problem solves itself so quickly...
HE WAS A GOOD BOY. LOVE AND MISS U.
This is Massachusetts. Some liberal judge will find a way to hear the lawsuit case, and National Grid will be sued for not securing the substation to deter 17-year olds from hopping the fence.
Have some compassion; he was still someone's son. Youths today are often lacking in any direction and, sadly, left to their own devices while parents are either working to pay the bills or, indifferent to their basic need for guidance. Society has become dependent on the government to solve its problems. At the same time, we allow our children to be diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, depression, etc. - resulting in the beginning of a lifelong chemical dependence problem and a built-in excuse for not living up to his/her potential down the road. We are slowly becoming a nation of drug addicted (legal and illegal) zombies.
Meanwhile, everything becomes everyone else's problem while the majority sit back and pass self-righteous judgment without ever taking the time to understand the cause - let alone do something constructive to effectuate a change in the direction toward total devastation this country is spiraling down into.
To me, it's all just very sad. Another young life wasted and lost. What could have been his potential if someone, anyone, cared just a little bit more?
i believe the parent was looking for him seen saturday and reported to police as missing. until monday that they found out their son got electrocute.
Umm actually when a child is correctly diagnosed with ADHD or the like, they are less inclined to medicate themselves and become a drug addict. Because these imbalances are addressed with the right medication instead of illegally.
He made a bad decision. We all make bad decisions on occasion. Sometimes it's a fatal decision. It's nobody's fault but his own.
All local high schools have good programs to make every student learn a lot about health, drugs, suicide, finance budgeting, ... and also how to handle parental divorce, step families, ... why should this one and his family be so very unlucky?
Should the schools teach about accident prevention too? How about replacing teen TV comedies by something sober, like case studies of such accidents?
This is very sad. He left behind a 4 month old daughter.
I care cause he is my cousin
Rest in peace Jody Loc <3 we love & miss you.
