A man died after being shot multiple times this morning in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood, Boston police said.
Police responded to the scene on Homestead Street at around 11:45 a.m., after a 911 caller reported hearing four gunshots and discovering his friend shot on the sidewalk, said Officer Joe Zanoli, a police spokesman.
It was the 16th homicide to occur in Boston this year, compared with 18 at the same time last year. Police are on the scene and continuing to investigate, Zanoli said.
