It's pretty sad to see how poorly protected we are thanks to our new president overseeing all! I feel safe!! Seems like communism at it's best landing here faster than we can think--WHAT ABOUT OUR FREEDOM? Freedom from deadly disease--outbreaks--DO NOT ALLOW MEXICANS TO DRIVE THEIR DISEASE LADEN FAMILIES TO U.S. AND DROP THEM OFF TO POLLUTE OUR HOSPITALS/DR./NURSES etc. Keep them in their own countries---No planes in or out. But no---Could this be a get--rich--quick--scheme drummed up between the two countries??? Or did I just over-think my freedom of speech outloud???? We need to hear the truth

I am confused as to what he said that was actually wrong and untrue. We do have thousands and thousands of illegals coming across the border everyday. And the government does nothing about it. Two border agents were arrested for shooting a Mexican drug dealer. Drugs are coming across the border. The local cases of swine flu did come from people who visited south of the border. And the lines at emergency rooms are long b/c of the illegals. So what is wrong with his comments? The truth hurts sometimes, but it doesn't make it not true.

This guys lies about his marriage, that he can play guitar, his education, awards, and gets booted off of any gig beyond this tiny Boston market. Desperate times call for desperate measure from poor Jimmy. He purposely went out of his way to say this for only one reason. Too get his name in the news and get exposure to a dying career.

Illegal Mexicans are causing hospitals and schools to spend billions of tax dollars. If the US Government does not pay for them, the hospitals and schools (especially on the US border) will close. Now reports are coming out that Mexico is the center for the killing flue. Jay Severin is correct

Why should our tax dollars (over $1200 pr month per unit) be wired into the accounts of housing owners that rent with section 8 certificates. The criminelailien rentor doesn't pay a dime. As a self described 'moderate' who listens to both liberals and conservatives on the radio, I have learned to take everything both sides say with a grain of salt. With all of the important issues to be debated between liberals and conservatives it is a shame that the loudest voices being heard on the radio are by self promoters like Jay.
He once complained that at a dinner party he was being held accountable for his comment that any mother who works was mentally ill, when it was just meant as entertainment.
He has also bragged about having sex with his subordinates in a previous job, giving the best assignments to young women who slept with him. I believe that's when he made the comment that there is no such thing as date rape.When a caller, self described as a conservative with a young daughter called in to complain, Jay said that life wasn't fair, not all daughters were born pretty or smart enough to sleep with their boss.
If his comments about Mexican women were inappropriate, you should hear what he has to say about Asian women. His belief is that they are all basically prostitutes.

I just want to know why he was suspended. ! All jay did was speak the truth. We, American Citizens, are supporting all the immigrants and foreigners who enter this country illegally. The First Amendment means he won't get sent to prison for his comments. If you or I said these things @ work, and insulted a large number of our co-workers or customers, we wouldn't last very long. A business like the one that owns WTKK might see this as alienating a large part of a potential audience (Hispanics and non-racists), killing ratings, and losing advertising dollars.

The Globe is not a journal but, rather, a liberal propaganda rag so any and all content published therein must be considered in light of that simple fact. Jay Severin is bombastic and occasionally rude. This is offensive to the PC crowd but is often an effective way to get attention and get a point across. Much of what Severin says is, when one actually thinks it through, a rational viewpoint. His objective is to get people thinking about all the things that go on that are NEVER reported in the traditional, liberal-dominated, media. That the libs seek to eliminate any and all voices of opposition to their views is far more offensive than a few unsettling remarks by a tglk show host.

Severin's diatribe is execrable, but the comments here just flabbergast me. Is this what you really think of us? Is this what my neighbors think of my family and me?

As a middle school teacher in Texas I work so hard to instill my students - many of them immigrants, or children of immigrants, (like me) with a love for our great country. I teach them to embrace civic values and to understand our system of government. One of my students, a twelve year old, came to school visibly upset recently. "Why do they hate us here? What's the point of all this crap you're trying to teach us? They hate us here."
I gave the whole class a brief history of immigration in America. It took quite a bit of convincing to show them that they dishonor the sacrifices their parents continue to make if they don't work hard in school. "People don't hate us", I said. "There's a tiny minority who is just angry and looking for someone to blame.".
Reading these comments, I'm just cringing. Maybe I'm the naive one, and my students are reading the situation correctly. I wish I could shield them from your vitriol, but I can't.

Just.....please understand: our families came here for better opportunities, and we are working so hard. You make it very difficult.

I met a very wise man that always said," I may disagree and even abhore what you say but I will fight to my death to defend your right to say it". He speaks the truth they steal jobs from college kids looking to get started and clog emergency rooms .My wife has speny hours in a emergency room after a auto accident because of criminaliens using the er as a free clinic
