Lowell prom limo driver was allegedly drunk
By Kase Wickman, Globe Correspondent
A limousine driver ferrying a group of Lowell high school students around town on prom night was arrested on drunk driving charges.
Seven Lowell Catholic High School students had hired Brian Harrison, 45, of Tewksbury to drive them. Harrison dropped the students off at a movie theater Friday evening.
When they were ready to leave, two of the students noticed that Harrison seemed intoxicated, Lowell Police said in a statement. One of them called her parents, who called police.
Harrison drove away from the theater when the students refused to get in his car, then came back.
After apologizing, Harrison tried to convince the students to get back in the limo. They again refused, police said.
Police arrested Harrison at about 11:40 p.m. for driving under the influence of alcohol. The students’ parents took them home. Harrison is to be arraigned Monday in Lowell District Court.
