Road closures for the week of May 3

Road closures and other transportation advisories for the week of May 3.

To help improve morning traffic flow to Boston at the I-90 (MassPike) eastbound toll plaza near I-95 (Route 128), Fast Lane enforcement will be enhanced beginning on Monday between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. Cash customers will not be allowed in the left two lanes marked "Fast Lane Only." A state trooper will enforce the restrictions.

The MWRA is getting ready to pave Day Boulevard in South Boston. Milling and grinding will last until Wednesday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Final paving will occur the following Monday.

Beginning Monday, motorists traveling over the Tobin Bridge will see a new lane configuration on the upper level southbound before the toll plaza. The center lane will reopen, with the right lane closing for work just after the Everett Street on-ramp. Traffic will flow in both the center and left lanes. The right lane will be closed through the end of May. Work on the lanes will begin at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Two or three lanes of I-93 South will be closed approaching and through downtown, Monday through Friday from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The Haymarket on-ramp to I-93 South and the Callahan Tunnel will be closed Monday and Tuesday from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-93 South Exit 20B to I-90 (MassPike) West and Albany Street will be closed and detoured Sunday from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-93 South Exits 20A South Station and 20B to I-90 (MassPike) West and Albany Street will be closed and detoured Tuesday from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-93 South Exit 23 to Purchase Street will be closed Monday and Wednesday from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.

The Herald Street on-ramp to I-93 South will be closed Tuesday from 1 to 5 a.m.

Two or three lanes of I-93 North through downtown and Charlestown will be closed Monday through Friday from 10:30 p.m. (11:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday) to 5 a.m.

The underpass from Storrow Drive eastbound to I-93 North and Tobin Bridge will be closed Monday through Friday from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The Sumner Tunnel on-ramp to I-93 North will be closed Wednesday from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-93 North Exit 23 to Government Center will be closed and detoured Tuesday from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The I-90 (MassPike) East high-occupancy vehicle tunnel to Logan Airport will be closed Sunday and Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp at I-90 (MassPike) East Exit 24 B and C to I-93 North and South will be closed Friday from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. Access to Kneeland Street/ South Station will remain open.

The Copley on-ramp at St. James Avenue to I-90 (MassPike) West will be closed Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The on-ramp from Congress Street to I-93 in South Boston and the I-90 (MassPike) West Exit 24 to I-93 will be closed Sunday through Friday from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The on-ramp to I-90 (MassPike) West from D Street will be closed Monday through Friday from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.


One lane of I-90 (MassPike) West in the Ted Williams Tunnel will be closed Monday through Friday from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The high-occupancy vehicle ramp from I-90 (MassPike) West to the South Station Transportation Center will be closed early mornings Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12:30 a.m. to 5 a.m.

For the next several months, maintenance crews will be doing repair work on sections of I-90 (MassPike) East and West from the I-90 (MassPike)/I-93 interchange in Boston to the New York State line during the day from 7 a.m. or 9 a.m., depending on location, to 3 p.m. weekdays.

A paving project will be underway on I-90 (MassPike) East and West between Exits 11 and 12 in Hopkinton and Westborough.

Lanes will be closed on I-90 (MassPike) East and West near the Prudential Tunnel to Exit 24 Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Lanes on I-90 (MassPike) East and West near the Ted Williams Tunnel will be closed Monday through Friday from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. and westbound only during the day Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Congress Street on-ramp to I-93 South and I-90 (MassPike) West will be closed Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
