Boston police capture suspected bank bandit in Jamaica Plain

Boston Police captured a suspected bank robber in Jamacia Plain this afternoon after a robbery at the Mount Washington Bank on Centre Street.
Police said a man in his 30s entered the bank at 515 Centre about 2:45 p.m., jumped over a teller window, grabbed a "substantial amount of cash" and fled out the door.
A police spokesman said officers responded and set up a perimeter around the bank. They found the alleged bandit in the area.
He was brought back to the bank for a positive identification and will be charged, authorities said.
Boston Police are also investigating a robbery at the Salem Five Bank on Congress Street shortly before noon. Police said a man passed a note and obtained an undisclosed amount of money. He fled the area.
Investigators are trying to determine if there is any link between the two robberies.
