Law enforcement officials said today that they have identified the body found smoldering Saturday in the Blue Hills Reservation as that of 42-year-old Kristyn L. Genereux of Plymouth.
Norfolk District Attorney William R. Keating said the case continues to be investigated as a "suspicious death."
Genereux's badly burned body, which had been doused with gasoline, was found at about 3:45 p.m. in a portion of the reservation in Quincy that is accessible from Route 28 in Milton.
Keating thanked the media for its help Tuesday in publicizing the discovery of the body and said it generated multiple tips for investigators. Officials had released photos of three rings found on the body, hoping someone would recognize them and help them make an ID.
Keating asked for the public to continue assisting in the investigation.
"Clearly anyone who knew Ms. Genereux, knew of her activities last week, or who saw anything unusual in the Blue Hills Reservation, we ask that they contact police," he said. "It has not been established whether she died in the Blue Hills, so potential callers should not limit themselves because they were aware of her activities elsewhere."
Keating said Genereux's family had been notified and they had requested privacy. She was a mother of four, and all the children are safely in the care of others, prosecutors said.
