Police investigating report of indecent exposure in North End

August 16, 2009 03:47 PM

Police are investigating a report of a man who allegedly exposed himself to a woman early Saturday morning in the North End.

According to Boston Police, a woman reported that a man approached her just after 3 a.m. Saturday morning on the corner of Unity Street and Unity Court.

The woman pushed the man away and fled to her home, police said. The man appeared to be 30 to 35 years old, weighed approximately 160 pounds, may have been Hispanic, and was wearing a tan T-shirt and jeans, the woman told police.

Police are investigating but have not made any arrests.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call either the Boston Police Sexual Assault Unit at (617) 343-4400 or Area A-1 detectives at (617) 343-4248. Community members who wish to assist this investigation anonymously can either call the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1(800) 494-TIPS.

There have been several sexual assaults in recent years in the North End.

In September 2008, police used DNA to determine that the same man was responsible for three sexual assaults in the North End in 2007 and 2008. Police also received reports of two sexual assaults in April 2009. No arrests have been made in any of these cases. Police could not confirm if the latest report is connected to previously reported crimes.
