Downtown high-rise evacuated briefly after electrical panel problem

A smoking electrical panel on the 12th floor of a downtown high-rise caused firefighters to evacuate the building this afternoon.
The problem was reported at about 5:30 p.m at 1 Beacon St. No injuries were reported and everyone was back in by 6:30 p.m., said Steve MacDonald, a Boston Fire Department spokesman.
