Kirk named as executor in Sen. Kennedy’s will
Three years to the day before he died, Senator Edward M. Kennedy named Paul G. Kirk Jr. as the executor of his estate, according to a will filed today with the Barnstable Probate Court.
The will signed by Kennedy on Aug. 25, 2006, leaves all of the senator's assets to a trust he established in his own name that day. Kirk is a trustee of the entity.
The will does not state the value of Kennedy's assets but says he has provided in his trust for his widow, Victoria R. Kennedy, his three children, and other unnamed descendants.
If Kirk cannot serve as executor of the estate, that duty will fall to Kennedy's son, Edward M. Kennedy Jr., according to the will.
