Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation after a man's body was found Tuesday evening lying in a grassy area in the town of Wakefield.
The body of Abelino Perez Martinez, 32, was found at about 6:24 p.m. by a passerby walking in an area near Audubon Road, Middlesex prosecutors and local police said in a statement.
The state medical examiner is completing an autopsy to rule on the cause of death, the officials said this afternoon.
Corey Welford, a spokesman for Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone, said the manís death is actively being investigated by State Police assigned to Leoneís office and local police.
