An 18-year-old pregnant woman was shot and killed early this morning after asking several uninvited men to leave her birthday party at a Hyde Park apartment.

She was one of two victims killed in separate shootings in Boston early this morning.

A 21-year-old man was fatally shot and three other people shot and wounded on Edson Street in Dorchester, according to police. And in a third incident just before dawn, at least one person was stabbed in a fight involving a crowd of about 15 to 20 people on Intervale Street in Roxbury.

The 18-year-old was identified by her family as Paola N. Castillo, of Dorchester. Her birthday party was hosted by her best friend at 28 Hillis Road.

A woman who requested that she only be identified only by her first name, Ruthy, said the birthday party was held at her niece’s home.

“It was literally a couple of friends and family cutting cake when these kids came in who weren’t invited.” She said her niece was three and a half months pregnant and just had her first ultrasound.

Witnesses said the birthday party was a small, quiet affair – a makeup for a gathering at a restaurant that Castillo had missed on Friday due to a scheduling conflict. At about 2 a.m., at least four men showed up uninvited to the second-floor apartment and Castillo and others at the party attempted to evict them. An argument broke out inside the apartment.

The men left the apartment but the argument continued outside between party guests and the four men. One of the four pulled a handgun and started shooting at the building. Just before the man pulled the gun, Castillo had leaned out of her friend’s window directly above the entrance to see what was going on and was hit by a bullet near her collarbone.

Castillo walked downstairs, according to witnesses, but returned to the apartment, leaving a pool of blood on the first floor and a trail of blood leading back up the stairs. She collapsed on her side in her friend’s kitchen. Her friend, party attendees and some residents rushed to her. Castillo's eyes were open, but she was apparently unable to speak.

Minutes after the shooting, Castillo's mother arrived and shouted out for her daughter, according to witnesses.

The witnesses, who live in the three-story multi-family apartment complex at the corner of Hillis Road and Ellis Street, declined to give their names out of fear for their safety.

More than an hour later, the 21-year-old man, Carl H. Belizaire, was killed at 7 Edison St. in Dorchester, according to police. At approximately 3:49 am police responded to multiple calls of shots fired. A 26-year-old man, 40-year-old man, and 19-year-old woman were also shot, but their wounds are believed to be non-life threatening, according to police.

Police responded to the fight where the stabbing occurred at 98 Intervale St. in Roxbury at approximately 4:57 a.m. and said at least one person involved in the melee had a machete

No arrests were made. Police were investigating all three incidents.
