Two women arrested for obstructing justice in fatal shooting outside a Fall River home

October 25, 2009 12:35 PM

A 40-year-old Fall River man was shot and killed and another man injured after an early morning shooting, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.

Fall River Police responded to 188 East Main St. at 4:08 a.m., where they found the two men outside, according to a press release.

Bristol County District Attorney spokesman Gregg Miliote said the two men, who knew each other, had been at a "get-together" in the building before the incident.

The 40-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene, while the other man, 39, also of Fall River, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Miliote would not identify either victim and said he was not aware if the two men are known to police.

The incident is under investigation by the Bristol County District Attorney’s office, the Fall River Police, and the State Police. Miliote would not comment on whether any arrests have been made.
