Liana Farmer, an 18-year-old Massachusetts College of Art student from Jamaica Plain, had the honor of accepting an award from Michelle Obama Wednesday.
Liana was chosen to represent Art a la Carte, a teen art program that connects Boston area youth with the local art community through classes, internships, and field trips, at the annual Coming Up Taller Leadership Enhancement Conference.
“I was really nervous,” said Liana. “But she was really nice and warm, which was comforting. The whole experience is still surreal.”
