Scaffolding collapses near Faneuil Hall

Rescuers rushed the injured worker to an ambulance.
David L. Ryan/Globe Staff
A lift holding three workers who were repairing bricks at historic Faneuil Hall collapsed this morning, injuring one worker.
Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald said the workers had just finished a project repointing bricks on the second level when the lift buckled about 10:04 a.m., sending "everyone flying." They were standing on a plank.
One worker jumped off, falling 10 feet onto another section of staging, MacDonald said. Firefighters were called in for a technical rescue and the injured worker was rushed to a nearby hospital with several broken ribs and cuts to his head.
The other two workers escaped injury.
