A 25-year old Quincy man is in critical condition after he was shot in Cambridge Friday night.
Cambridge Police responded to reports of shots fired at about 9 p.m. near Jackson and Dudley streets in North Cambridge, where they found the victim with several gunshot wounds to his chest and wrist, said police spokeswoman Jennifer Flagg.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, she said.
Police said they believe the assailant attempted to drive off in a blue vehicle but crashed and abandoned the car not far from the where the shooting took place. Police are not releasing the year or model of the car and said they are still investigating the crime. The shooting was not believed to be random, police said.
