A flatbed lumber truck crashed into a single-family home in Lowell this morning, causing minor injuries to the driver but no harm to anyone in the home.
The accident was reported around 10:30 a.m. at 498 Lakeview Ave. The male driver was transported to Lowell General Hospital, according to Lowell Police. His condition was not immediately available. A 29-year-old woman was in the home but was not injured, said Captain Randall Humphrey.
The home was severely damaged. He said the damage was so severe that the truck would be left in the house until a structural engineer can assess the damage on Monday.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by both Lowell and State Police.
