Man's body found in Chelsea trash barrel
A man's body was found dumped in a trash barrel in Chelsea early this morning, and police said they are treating the death as a homicide.
Chelsea Police Chief Brian Kyes said the body was found about 6:50 a.m. inside a trash barrel behind a car at 114 Grove St. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kyes said the body was put inside the barrel head-first with his feet hanging over the side. The age and identity of the man have not been released.
He said blood was found at the scene and at a nearby residence.
Jake Wark, a spokesman for Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley's office, said State Police, Chelsea police, and investigators from the district attorney's office are leading the investigation.
Wark said the case is being treated as a homicide. An autopsy is being planned.
