Roxbury man convicted in 2007 slaying

A 52-year-old man has been convicted of first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of a another man in a Roxbury residence, the Suffolk district attorney's office said.

Larry Nelson of Roxbury allegedly entered 64-year-old Richard Stroman's apartment on Elm Hill Avenue and stabbed him about 20 times on the afternoon of Oct. 7, 2007, prosecutors said.

The verdict was handed down on the jury's first full day of deliberations in Suffolk Superior Court Judge Judith Fabricant's courtroom. Sentencing has been set for 2 p.m.
