N.H. man sentenced in teenager's rape
A New Hampshire man was sentenced to 45 to 60 years in prison for raping a 15-year-old girl, the Essex County district attorney's office said today.
Robin Abrahams, 46, of Seabrook, N.H., was found guilty of rape of a child and burglary and assault after DNA evidence linked him to the 1991 assault, according to a statement from Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett's office.
Prosecutors said Abrahams broke into the Newburyport home of a 15-year-old girl and raped her. In 2006, DNA evidence found on the bedsheets at the scene of the crime linked Abrahams, who had lived sporadically in the Newburyport, Mass., area, to the break-in and rape on the night of May 17, 1991.
Abrahams also received a life sentence for burglary and assault, Blodgett's office said.
In addition, he pleaded guilty today to intimidating a witness in 2008 while awaiting trial for the Newburyport rape and was sentenced to a concurrent state prison term of four to five years.
