Remains found in Holden identified as Norwood woman missing since 2006
Human remains found in Holden earlier this month belonged to a Norwood woman who has been missing since 2006, according to Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.'s office.
The woman has been identified as Tyra Wilkerson of Norwood, Early said in a statement. She was approximately 32 years old when she was reported missing in 2006.
No other information on Wilkerson was immediately available. Norwood police referred questions to Early's office.
“We hope the identification will bring some measure of closure to Ms. Wilkerson’s family,'' Early said in a statement. "We will now move forward in attempting to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.''
Early said in the statement that a cause of death had not yet been established for Wilkerson. He said that is one of the issues he hopes forensic examination and further investigation by police will resolve.
