Police have arrested an 18-year-old Hyannis woman in the hit-and-run accident that killed 47-year-old Lillian White as she crossed a Hyannis street in her wheelchair earlier this week.
Gina Giovangleo 18, of Vandermint Lane, is being charged with motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, according to a press release from the Barnstable Police Department issued Thursday night.
Officer Scott Leger said police located, in a commercial parking lot, a 2007 gray Nissan Ultima suspected to have been involved in the Tuesday night accident. Giovangleo is being held on $10,000 cash bail, according to the police report.
She will be arraigned Friday morning in Barnstable District Court.
