Two Boston men face murder charges after a 24-year-old woman was fatally shot early this morning in the city's Dorchester section, police said.
Kadeem Foreman, and Terrell Rainey, both 20, also face firearms charges after the slaying of the woman at about 1:15 a.m. in the area of 183 Harvard St., Boston Police said in a statement.
Officers responding to Harvard Street found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. An 18-year-old man was taken to Boston Medical Center where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. But the woman was pronounced dead at the hospital. Neither victim's name was released.
Police said an officer was nearby at the time of the shooting, heard the shots, and observed two people fleeing the scene. The officer immediately called for backup and chased them on foot. During the course of the chase, the officer lost sight of the suspects. But officers searched the area and found them within a half-hour of the shootings, hiding in a back yard, said Officer James Kenneally, a Boston Police spokesman.
Homicide detectives are investigating the case. Police asked anyone with additional information to call 617-343-4470.
