Construction worker injured at Salem courthouse project

A construction worker was seriously injured this morning in an accident at the new courthouse project on Federal Street in Salem, a fire official said.
A man in his early 30s received serious injuries to both of his legs at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday after he was hit by a concrete slab, Deputy Fire Chief James Lynch said.
The slab was "a good size" and about five inches thick, Lynch said.
The worker was transported to an area hospital. Lynch said he did not know if the worker received additional injuries.
No other injuries were reported, Lynch said.
