A Mattapan man was arrested Friday night near Boston Common and charged with robbing a nearby movie theater earlier in the week, police said.
Chukuma E. Ajene,26, was arrested near the AMC Loews theater on Tremont Street at about 8 p.m. and charged with armed robbery and trespassing, Boston police said in a statement.
Ajene allegedly jumped on a counter at the theater last Sunday and threatened to shoot everyone during a robbery. The heist allegedly was captured on video surveillance cameras, police said.
Ajene allegedly stopped into the theater again on Friday, threatening that he had a gun and was "going to shoot up the place," witnesses told police.
