Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino injured his lower left leg on Sunday trying to step up to a makeshift stage prior to the start of the 11th Walk for Peace, an event held to try to end violence on city streets. Menino, who has had problems in the past with his left knee, walked a short distance in the procession before leaving to be treated inside an ambulance.
