Woman and her mannequin in HOV lane can't fool State Police
Talk about desperate to avoid traffic.
A South Boston woman faces a $35 fine for allegedly misusing the high-occupancy vehicle lane on I-93 South Monday morning.
A state police trooper stopped the woman near Exit 13 in Boston around 9:10 a.m. because he noticed that her passenger wasn’t a passenger at all. It was a mannequin, said Trooper Thomas Murphy.
The driver’s name was not released. The scofflaw was given a ticket, and her mannequin was confiscated.
Traffic on Interstate 93 can often be congested from Boston to Braintree. Motorists can use the much quicker HOV lane if there is more than one occupant in the vehicle.
