Franklin woman charged with driving into officer at work site
A 25-year-old woman faces hit-and-run charges after she allegedly struck a police officer with her car late this morning in Franklin and drove away, police said.
Officer Edward Clifford was working a construction detail on the King Street exit off of Interstate 495 when a car coming down the ramp hit him at 11:30 a.m., according to Franklin police. The car drove off, but police located Ari Cunard at her Franklin home and arrested her a short time later.
Clifford was transported to Milford Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and released this afternoon, according to police.
Cunard is due in Wrentham District Court tomorrow on charges of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident as well as operating a motor vehicle so as to endanger the public.
