Two men suffered fatal gunshot wounds in Roxbury and Dorchester in separate incidents this morning, police said.
About 4 a.m., police found a 45-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound at 396 Seaver St., near Franklin Park Zoo, according to a statement from Boston Police.
About 5:55 a.m., police found a 38-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds about a mile away in the area of 61 Stratton St. in Dorchester.
The victims were taken to Boston Medical Center where they were pronounced dead. The victims' identities are being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police spokesman James Kenneally said. No arrests have been made.
It is unknown whether either incident is connected to the J'ouvert parade that kicked off today's Caribbean carnival at 5 a.m. around Franklin Park, Kenneally said.
The Boston Police Homicide Unit is investigating both incidents. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470.
