Boston police said this afternoon that a third man has died from injuries suffered when an argument escalated into violence Sunday night inside a popular Jamaica Plain restaurant.
The identities of all three victims are being withheld pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, police said. No arrests have been made.
Police described one of the victims as a Hispanic man, approximately 21 years old, who suffered multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead Sunday night.
A second victim, also a Hispanic man about 21, suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he pronounced dead Sunday night.
This afternoon, police said the third victim is a white Hispanic man about 28, who was shot.
"He was transported to Boston Medical Center and was listed in stable condition,'' police said in a statement this afternoon. "His medical condition worsened and has since been pronounced deceased.''
According to police spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll and witnesses interviewed by the Globe on Sunday, an argument erupted between three men just before the gunfire broke out around 7:30 p.m. inside the Same Old Place on 662 Centre St.
A fourth victim, a female pedestrian, was hit in the leg by a bullet. She was treated at Faulkner Hospital.
The eatery's manager, Mario Bailote, 40, said Sunday night that he saw a man come into the pizzeria and start arguing with a group of men sitting at a table.
A fistfight broke out, and the man pulled out a gun and started shooting at the group, Bailote said. No employees were injured, Bailote said. The pizzeria's walls are pockmarked with bullet holes, he said.
Olga Batyuk, 22, said Sunday night that she was taking a break outside from her shift at J.P. Licks, directly across the street, when she heard gunshots.
"People were running, some were on the ground," she said.
She said she ran into the back entrance of the ice cream store, and locked the doors. Most of the customers were unaware anything had happened, she said.
The police arrived a few minutes later, she said.
