A 23-year-old Abington man is facing charges of threatening to commit a crime and possession of incendiary devices after ammunition and explosive powder were found in his home last week, authorities said.

Leo J. Powers will be arraigned on Feb. 22, a Plymouth County district attorney's spokeswoman said.

Last Friday, the Abington Fire Department received a call from 45 Margaret Road, where the homeowner said Powers, a tenant, had explosive powder and wanted it checked out, Deputy Fire Chief John Weckbacher said.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they called the State Fire Marshal’s office, which then called the State Police bomb squad. The bomb squad responded and collected the materials to test them.

Abington police did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
