WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Democratic U.S. Rep. John Larson is hosting a forum on the influence of money in politics.

The 1st District congressman is scheduled to be joined on Tuesday by Nick Nyhart, president and CEO of Public Campaign Action Fund. The national non-profit organization has advocated for removing big special interest money from elections. The nonpartisan group supports public financing systems for elections, such as Connecticut’s program for statewide and legislative candidates.

Members of the public who attend the forum may discuss campaign finance reform with Larson as well as other topics.

The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the West Hartford Town Hall.end of story marker
