KILLINGLY, Conn. (AP) — State police say an hourlong standoff in Killingly has ended peacefully with the arrest of a man who relatives say had several guns and was having suicidal thoughts.
Troopers surrounded a home off Route 101 at about 2 a.m. Monday after the man’s family called police. A state police SWAT team took him into custody without incident after about an hour.
Authorities haven’t released the man’s name. He was brought to Day Kimball Hospital for an evaluation.
State police say criminal charges are pending.
Troopers had to close Route 101 during the standoff.
