NORHAMPTON, Mass. (AP) — A Northampton woman has pleaded guilty to an armed robbery at a city home on Christmas Day 2011 and a house break in Williamsburg three days before.

Nancy Gehrung, who owned a flower shop in the area, pleaded guilty in Hampshire Superior Court on Monday and is scheduled to be sentenced March 26.

Her lawyer asked for a five-year jail term, while prosecutors are seeking a six- to eight-year prison sentence.

Prosecutors say Gehrung broke into a Northampton home on Dec. 25, 2011, and pointed a handgun at the occupants. The gun had been reported stolen by a Willimantic, Conn., police officer. She made off with a $100 bill and several other items, including a gorilla mask.
